Championing active lifestyles
We influence policy and drive physical activity campaigns.
Energise Me is a charity that champions physical activity for all in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
We are working hard to make it easier for everyone to move more. Our goal is to create a happier, healthier and stronger future for local people. We won’t rest until everyone has the confidence, support and opportunity to be active on their own terms.
Physical activity transforms lives. Our work is helping people to reduce their risk of major illnesses and depression. With your help, we are enabling communities to thrive. But we still have a long way to go.
We are one of 42 Active Partnerships who work with partners to create an active nation.
There is no situation, there is no age and no condition where exercise is not a good thing.
Chris Whitty, England's Chief Medical Officer
Energise Me tackles the things that prevent active lifestyles, so everyone can improve their health and happiness by moving more.
We purposefully tackle the things that prevent active lifestyles by being:
Curious about what stops people from being active.
Open to different ideas and perspectives.
Creative in how we do things and who we work with.
Bold in taking risks and speaking out about things that need to change.
Energise Me registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in February 2016. But we’ve been around a lot longer. Before becoming Energise Me, we sat within Hampshire County Council. Back then, we were known as Sport Hampshire and Isle of Wight.
A lot has changed. Our focus has shifted towards tackling the things that prevent active lifestyles. We’ve welcomed new faces to our team. But, with funding from Sport England, we are still changing lives through physical activity and sport.
