Culture in Common is delighted to be partnering up with New Forest National Park Authority’s Walking and Cycling Festival for the second time, this year bringing you inspiring ‘Photo Walkshops’ where participants will actively learn different photography skills and techniques out and about in the New Forest, with support from experienced professional photographer Paul Gonella of Strong Island Media.
Paul has been involved in numerous artistic projects, working with young and vulnerable older individuals across Hampshire. With a decade of experience, he delivers captivating photography workshops to thousands of people, spanning all ages and skill levels, along the stunning south coast. The National Park Authority’s Adam Vasey will co-lead the walks, providing everything you need to know about the Forest landscape, heritage, tree, plant and wildlife that you will be photographing.
Everyone is welcome to come along, it doesn’t matter how confident you are with your camera, from total beginner to expert, there is always lots to discover and to learn. Bring your camera: anything from a digital compact through to an DSLR or Mirrorless and if you want to shoot 35mm film, cool! Of course, smartphones are very welcome too.
The walk will begin in Fairweather’s Garden Centre Car Park and finish up at Steff’s Café, where you can enjoy a snack and share your best shots with us.
The walk will be on pavements, some cobbles and some short grass sections (but can be adapted for wheelchair users or buggies). Please ensure that you wear appropriate footwear in case of mud and warm clothing if cold temperature.
